Student Conference Support

Student Competition Information
The QLD AIP Branch are pleased to announce the opening of “Meet a Nobel Laureate” Competition for High School and Undergraduate students in Queensland. Students will compete for a chance to meet Nobel Laureate Takaaki Kajita, one of the Plenary speakers at this year’s Congress and talk to him about the question they most want to discuss with him.
Students from around Queensland are encouraged to apply, and at least one winner will be drawn from a regional area. This regional winner will be provided some support to travel and attend the event. Childcare Grant Scheme
The APPC-AIP 2016 Congress has a limited number of childcare grants available for those attending the meeting. Grants of up to $300 will be given to registered attendees to assist in offsetting the cost of additional childcare expenses incurred as a result of attending the Congress.
Examples of allowable expenses:
- Expenses incurred in bringing a care-provider (partner, grandparent Nanny etc) to the Congress to care for child(ren) in Brisbane.
- Travel of a relative or other care-provider to care for child(ren) at home while parent attends the Congress.
- Additional childcare expenses incurred at home because of Congress attendance (i.e. additional day of childcare required, longer hours of a babysitter)
Expenses must be documented by receipts where possible.
Applying for a grant
To apply, download the online Childcare grant application form here and submit to email@example.com. Applications must be received by 30 September 2016. Applications will to be considered by a subcommittee of the APPC-AIP Congress 2016.
Should the number of applicants exceed the funds allocated to this initiative, priority will be given to those at the earlier stages of their careers.
The APPC-AIP Congress reserves the right to deny funds to applications who misrepresent their funding needs.
Changes in Circumstances
If the need for your grant changes between when you applied and the date of the Congress, you must notify the APPC-AIP Congress to explain. You will be notified quickly if your need is still eligible for funding.
